Remember this little one?

Oh yeah she's my baby, of course everyone knows who she is. Lately she has begun climbing things. Since we don't have any stairs in our house the next best option is the treadmill. It totally cracks me up when she does this because she can't get down. It's almost like my very own babysitter because she doesn't try to climb off. The other kids don't care for this because the treadmill was their own stage but now I believe Charlotte may be claiming it.

The Zoo

On Monday morning Bonnie had a school field trip to the zoo. I was probably as excited as the kids were to go on our first field trip. We could bring any and all siblings but I choose to just take Chas. Allison stayed with Charlotte.
They kids were so excited to see all kinds of different animals. We showed up right at 10 am when they open and we saw the monkeys eating apples.
I tried really hard to get a photo of Bonnie smiling. Oh wait she still isn't smiling in this photo. We had just gone through the penguin area and the kids loved it. The penguins had either just been fed or had just snorted crack because they were insane crazy. It was pretty fun.

This slide was one of the big hits of the zoo. Ok I take that back the kids were really excited about all the animals they saw and we saw a lot. This slide was just super exciting for all the kids.

Here is a photo of her having fun, but she didn't know I was actually taking this picture.

The kids decided next time we go to the zoo that we need to meet Aunt Sue Sue. So I guess there will be another trip this year!

Sister's Weekend 2010

Sister's Weekend just ended on Sunday. I am sad to be home but really missed getting the normal amount of sleep I normally get. Charlotte doesn't like to sleep as long as normal on vacation. This year we decided each of us would make a quilt square and then we could make our own lap quilts.

Here is my finished quilt with the two kids I left behind. It was so wonderful not having all three kids with me.

This is the top three quilt square. From left to right the squares were made by Jeni, Lonita, and me.

Here is the center three squares. The one on the left is Suzanne's square and the one on the right is Allison's square. The square in the middle is one I made since we only had a total of eight squares. I cut out an S and W. Then I sewed the letters on and in orange thread I used my machine to write Sisters over the S and Weekend over the W. The little red square is the Olivia pig laying on the floor and it says "Worn Out." We all thought that was perfect since at the end of sister's weekend we are utterly exhausted.

These are the three bottom squares and from left to right they were made by, my Mom, Donna, and Krissie.

I am always fearful of creating quilts because I'm just not sure if the fabrics I use ever go with each other. For example I think I like my quilt but I'm just not sure it all works together. I really wanted to use the purple fabric because I bought it a long time ago and I've lately been trying to use some of the fabrics I love but don't want to use. This purple fabric was one of them.

So what do you think?

Warmth

A few weeks ago we took a walk in the early morning to the grandparents house. It was really cold out that morning but we'd decided it was time to use the stroller again. We bundled up all three kids and headed over.

On a morning like today, it will be warm today, I appreciate these cute photos. It's 9:23 am and I've already broken up a ton of fights between the older two. I've had to save the baby from her big brother at least 6 times. I am so glad we're going to my sisters house soon because I just might loose it. It must be time to open a diet coke!!

Have a wonderful weekend. I know we are, I've got all kinds of stuff on my to-do list, but most important is we are going to get our vegetable/flowers starts started this weekend!

Levis

We live on an acre and within that acre is a barn that acts as our storage area. The previous owners used it to store horse food and that kind of crap. I've been going out there lately to find some old clothes. yep, the baby has been here for almost 10 months and for the first time after a baby I've managed to shed some weight.

While I was out there last week I grabbed a pair of Levis. They were 33 x 30. I'm not sure what I was thinking but figured they must of been mine.

A few weeks ago my sister brought over a ton of pants. They all fit loosely but are way too long. As I was cleaning up last night I decided to go through the jeans and choose which ones to keep and which ones to get rid of. I spotted the Levis and looked at them. Then it hit me, these weren't my Levis they were Jay's old Levis. Yeah the Levis he wore when we were first dating.

I brought them out for him to see and asked if we could get rid of them. I was in a purging mood. He paused and thought about it and being the wife I am told him he'd never be a 33 waist again.

He looked at me and asked why can't he try.

I promptly told him, You can't be skinnier then me, you just can't!

He laughed pretty hard and said sure go ahead and get rid of them. That's the kind of guy he is, he'll keep me happy and take the roll of the heavier spouse. I love this guy.

On a side note I was cutting coupons while sitting at a stop light yesterday. I looked at the person in their car to the right of me and they were totally laughing, I think I would of too. All I could think was I've been caught clipping at a red light!

9 Months

Last Friday Charlotte turned 9 months old. I forgot to get a picture of her then but today we finally had some warm weather.

It feels like only yesterday that she was home from the hospital.
