Charlotte Ann's Baby Quilt

I really wanted to use some of my Japanese fabric and some of the fabric I purchased from Kristen. My mom used the big Russian doll for the center of the quilt and then used the smaller Russian doll fabric for the border. While all the girls were at sisters weekend we worked on picking out fabric to make it all work together. I am so happy how it turned out.

More photos of Baby Charlotte

Bonnie has enjoyed holding her little sister a lot. Unfortunately I am unable to get her to smile for the camera.
Chas loves to give his sister love. He has gotten really good at just patting her softly.

This photo is for Jeni.

I think it's safe to say we all love our new little addition to our family.

Life with 3

What we've been up to since I came home from the hospital on Sunday.

Chas checking up on baby sister.

Bonnie doing a wonderful job holding baby Charlotte. Chas going in for a love. He gives the baby a ruff pat on the head when he wants to show her how much he loves her.
And last of all lets not forget what this little girl loves to do. She loves to sleep all day long! Here she had just been fed and Grandma tried to burp her but instead of burping she just went right back to sleep. Oh she is so sweet and fun to have around.

New Family Member

On Thursday July 2, 2009 we welcomed Charlotte Ann Bradley into our family.

She weighed 8 pounds and 13 ounces. Our smallest baby to date. She was also 21 inches long - this made her the longest baby to date. She is so sweet and wonderful. From the minute she arrived Jay and I have just been amazed at how precious and sweet she is.

This children adore her and love to just look at her. Chas can't walk by her with out giving her a pat, which in Chas's world is a hard slap of the hand. Bonnie just adores her and loves it when she wakes up. Charlotte has long feet and long fingers and Jay and I just wonder what crazy genes did she get and what will she look like as she grows. Right now we've concluded she has Uncle Timmy's feet, this means she may end up being very very tall. I won't complain.

I told my brother that she reminds me of my Grandma. Charlotte was named after her maternal grandmother. My maternal Grandmother and I were pen pals when I was little, this was before it was cheap to call long distance whenever we felt like it. We exchanged letters often and I always looked forward to her letters when they arrived. I have always had a special place in my heart for this Grandma. I'd stay at her house for part of our visits to California and she always gave us Twinkies right before bedtime. I had been a little unsure of whether she should name her Charlotte or not but when Jay walked over with her bundled up like a little burrito I knew. We both agreed that Charlotte was more than appropriate for this dainty little baby.

I'm almost off

Soon I'll be heading off to the hospital. I can't wait. Mainly because they haven't let me eat or drink anything since midnight last night!

Wish me luck because it's my second major operation but I know I'll be just fine. Actually I'm looking forward to my vacation at the hospital. NO diaper changes, making meals, and I get to watch TV all day long. Could I ask for a better vacation.

Tonight Jay is going to bring the kids to see their little sister, I must admit I'm looking forward to them finally getting to meet her. Plus it will be nice for them to finally figure out what we've been talking about for the past 9 months.

Have a fun 4th!

I amaze myself

Before we ever had kids Jay and I would constantly be caught sleeping the weekend away. One Sunday as we rushed home from church we were in bed instantly. Our friends called when they got home, they lived a little farther away from church and had to take a bus home. The call went the answering machine and our friend's comment on the machine was, "You can't be napping already." We died laughing, we'd been caught again. What can I say, we love our naps!

Now that we have a 3 year old that doesn't nap anymore the naps don't come as easily as they used to. She's awake all day, every day of the week. As I've gotten closer to the birth of this baby I have become so incredibly tired.

Yesterday Jay's niece came over and helped get all the stuff out of the barn that I needed for the baby. Clothes, bassinet, swing, and all that good stuff. I think just watching her wore me out. Because once I had Chas down for a nap at 1 I went to bed and didn't get out of bed till after 5pm. About 20 minutes into the nap Bonnie came into the room with Candy Land. She played her game and watched videos next to me all afternoon. I really and seriously can't think of a better way to spend the afternoon these days.

This morning I put Chas down for his nap and about an hour later sure enough I was ready to fall asleep. I brought the laptop in for Bonnie to watch movies on my bed while I slept. Then I swear I thought I heard scooter growling at something and woke up. Turns out Bonnie sacked out right next to me. So currently I am the only one awake in the house as the other two sleep and it is pretty nice.

Here's a photo of the kids, just so the post isn't too boring.

Still Kicking

I've haven't been posting a lot lately because well I'm just depressed that I'm still pregnant. But that doesn't mean life has been dull around here by any means.

Last weekend our family headed up to Stanley, ID to stay in a big cabin with Jay's family over at Red Fish Lake. It was a beautiful time and we spent a few hours on the lake one day. The view was amazing with us being right next to the Sawtooth Mountains. The mountains are really amazing. On the first morning there we had a deer enter our cabin area and Bonnie thought the deer might enjoy playing frisbee. The weather was nice and cold our whole visit and I really enjoyed the cool weather.

Then yesterday some of the lilies finally decided to bloom. I am so happy and keep thinking maybe the baby will decide it'll be time to bloom and I'll go into labor. I highly doubt that but a girl can wish.

Have a wonderful weekend.
