Wow

Today I'm tired because Bonnie & I spent most of the day at the hospital in the ER. She was standing on a chair and fell off and hit her head really hard. Everyone had always told me that head wounds bleed like crazy. Now I know that they really do.

Bonnie ended up with two stitches. I've done really well every time I've taken any of my kids to get shots. I've never cried and have always been very reassuring. Today mix in tired, new mama hormones, and my first born screaming like crazy and well the ugly crying face appeared in front of strangers! Talk about mortifying. I don't cry in front of anyone except maybe Jay and that's if he's lucky.

I just couldn't believe how horrible I felt as she laid there screaming. Plus to make it worse they put a cloth over the area around the wound so the wound will stay clean. That meant Bonnie wasn't able to see anything as the doctor put the stitches in her head. Oh that few minutes was just terrible. Once it was over I was so glad I could scoop her up in my arms and hug her. They even gave her a Popsicle. We head back on Sunday or Monday to remove the stitches.

Life is never dull with little ones!

Sucked In

After I have a baby it seems like we watch a lot of movies at the house. So we watched the movie Twilight - I hadn't seen it yet and it seemed like the rest of the world had. Well I was surprised how much I liked it. I thought I'd read the books too. I always enjoy something easy to read after a baby comes because life is so crazy for a few months that easy books are nice.

I burned through Twilight really easily and on Saturday bought the second book. Well I spent last night awake for about 3 hours with the baby and just kept reading. I've almost finished the second book. Jay keeps laughing because he hasn't seen me read like this but there isn't much to do when you're nursing a baby besides read something. So I guess we're off to the store again today to buy the third book.

On another note we took my mother to the airport last night. Bonnie fell asleep on the way to the airport and we tried to wake her up to say goodbye to Grandma. She did but it didn't register. When we got home she was asking where Grandma was. Of course we told her we'd taken her to the airport and Grandma was on her way home to see Grandpa. Tears followed and it was very sad for a little while but now things seem to be ok.

Charlotte Ann's Baby Quilt

I really wanted to use some of my Japanese fabric and some of the fabric I purchased from Kristen. My mom used the big Russian doll for the center of the quilt and then used the smaller Russian doll fabric for the border. While all the girls were at sisters weekend we worked on picking out fabric to make it all work together. I am so happy how it turned out.

More photos of Baby Charlotte

Bonnie has enjoyed holding her little sister a lot. Unfortunately I am unable to get her to smile for the camera.
Chas loves to give his sister love. He has gotten really good at just patting her softly.

This photo is for Jeni.

I think it's safe to say we all love our new little addition to our family.

Life with 3

What we've been up to since I came home from the hospital on Sunday.

Chas checking up on baby sister.

Bonnie doing a wonderful job holding baby Charlotte. Chas going in for a love. He gives the baby a ruff pat on the head when he wants to show her how much he loves her.
And last of all lets not forget what this little girl loves to do. She loves to sleep all day long! Here she had just been fed and Grandma tried to burp her but instead of burping she just went right back to sleep. Oh she is so sweet and fun to have around.

New Family Member

On Thursday July 2, 2009 we welcomed Charlotte Ann Bradley into our family.

She weighed 8 pounds and 13 ounces. Our smallest baby to date. She was also 21 inches long - this made her the longest baby to date. She is so sweet and wonderful. From the minute she arrived Jay and I have just been amazed at how precious and sweet she is.

This children adore her and love to just look at her. Chas can't walk by her with out giving her a pat, which in Chas's world is a hard slap of the hand. Bonnie just adores her and loves it when she wakes up. Charlotte has long feet and long fingers and Jay and I just wonder what crazy genes did she get and what will she look like as she grows. Right now we've concluded she has Uncle Timmy's feet, this means she may end up being very very tall. I won't complain.

I told my brother that she reminds me of my Grandma. Charlotte was named after her maternal grandmother. My maternal Grandmother and I were pen pals when I was little, this was before it was cheap to call long distance whenever we felt like it. We exchanged letters often and I always looked forward to her letters when they arrived. I have always had a special place in my heart for this Grandma. I'd stay at her house for part of our visits to California and she always gave us Twinkies right before bedtime. I had been a little unsure of whether she should name her Charlotte or not but when Jay walked over with her bundled up like a little burrito I knew. We both agreed that Charlotte was more than appropriate for this dainty little baby.

I'm almost off

Soon I'll be heading off to the hospital. I can't wait. Mainly because they haven't let me eat or drink anything since midnight last night!

Wish me luck because it's my second major operation but I know I'll be just fine. Actually I'm looking forward to my vacation at the hospital. NO diaper changes, making meals, and I get to watch TV all day long. Could I ask for a better vacation.

Tonight Jay is going to bring the kids to see their little sister, I must admit I'm looking forward to them finally getting to meet her. Plus it will be nice for them to finally figure out what we've been talking about for the past 9 months.

Have a fun 4th!
