Gone for a while

I can't believe it has been over a month since I posted. Work has kept me extremely busy and probably will for another month.

On the craft side I helped the babysitter make a big footed bunny for her baby sister. Last night I worked on creating a wall hanging for Bonnie's room. Once I'm finished I'll post it. I'm so happy with how it turned out because this is the first of any type of quilting I've ever done. It turned out alright but I know quite a few things I will do differently next time. That's it for now. As usual I am so limited on any creative time do to work and family. I can't wait for work to slow down a bit and for me to have a little more free time.

My little girl

We have so much fun with our little Bonnie. Her manners and sillinessr make us laugh long after she's gone to bed for the night.

Yesterday we moved all of the office furniture off the front porch to the front room while soem workers adjust the level of the floor on the office/porch. This means Bonnie has access to all the files that are at her height. So last night Jay and I were working on some documents together at my computer. All of the sudden we hear a rustling of paper and a rip. We both turned around and ask Bonnie what she was doing with the paper. When she hears we've noticed she is doing something she shouldn't she throws her hands up in the air and runs away giggling. Now how are we supposed to discipline someone who is so darn cute when she gets in trouble.

I finally finished a simple dress for Bonnie. I had some extra fabric so I made her a little bag to carry her books with. I really love how it turned out.

One Project Done

Tonight I headed over to a friend's for a baby shower. We really had a great time and the cake was good. I just love cake so any chance to have a piece of cake you'll find me there.

I have been working hard on the presents for tonight's gifts and I am so happy how they turned out. I say I've been working hard because I don't really ever have much free time and when I do all I want to do is create stuff.
So back to the gifts. I got this was a great idea and so I went with it. I thought maybe I should add some bibs too. So this is what I ended up with.

Making the bibs were a big learning experience because I have never truly quilted before. I bib with the hippos worked out great but I had a tough time with the second bib. I think it all came down to the fact that the fabric was stretchy and I'm not used to that. But thankfully nobody noticed that tonight and she loved the gift.

Portland Fun

Our little family took a much needed vacation to Portland last weekend. We started out by visiting the Japanese Gardens. They were so beautiful and we really enjoyed it. The only setback is if you have toddlers they really don't have free range to run anywhere they please. But I think we did a pretty good job of keeping her entertained.

Then we visited Langlitz Leathers. They were so nice to us. We picked up some cold weather gloves for our Scooter Riding. They really treated us so nicely and we had a great time at their place. Then it was down the street to Ptown Scooters. Again they were super friendly and let little Bonnie run crazy around the store. I just can't believe how utterly nice everyone in Portland is.

The next day it was off to more shopping. Did I mention I had a great time! Out first stop was here and it was so fun. I picked up this
and these fabrics.
Then it was off to this market. We ate lunch here and I picked up three Japanese books.
Then we headed off to Bolt. Probably my favorite part of the trip. I have never seen such a wonderful selection of fabric as I did in Bolt. I could of purchased the entire store. I started off with this selection
Then I moved onto purchasing this group
And lastly these two pieces of fabric.
All in all we had so much fun. It was such a great trip and I'd do it a million times over again.
